ABOUT US

Tedd Johnson is a graphic designer who was born and raised in Miami. Tedd received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and began his career as a designer with Wometco Enterprises, Inc. Promoted four years later, he was named Art Director in charge of corporate design and advertising. Tedd left the company in August of 1985 to form his own firm — Tedd Johnson Design. From the offset, the firm’s mission was to establish an ongoing relationship with a select client base in order to understand and serve their various design needs.

Tedd has received numerous awards and honors including serving as a judge for: The International Business Association of Communicators Gold Quill Awards program; AIGA’s Design Leadership Award; Dade County Public Schools’ Southern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering Olympiad. He received distinction among Outstanding Young Men of America and earned a Xavier University Service Award for Art. Tedd also was named a Miami Herald Silver Knight Nominee for Art while a student at G.W. Carver High School in Coconut Grove. He was selected to create the logo design for Greater Miami American Red Cross’ 80th Year Commemorative Pin.

Recent projects include: the website design for the Church of the Incarnation (www.incarnationmiami.org) and various collateral materials designed for Kristi House — an advocacy center for sexually abused children funded by the Florida Department of Children & Families.

Tedd serves as a speaker for the Dade County Schools Volunteer Program and is a mentor in the 5000 African-American Role Models program. He has served as a Junior Achievement advisor and also served on the Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce Marketing Committee. Tedd was a member of the Advertising Federation of Greater Miami and has held the position of vice president in the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
